Star Wars - Battle of Hoth

I have only very vague recollections of seeing the first Star Wars film in the theater;
it was “The Empire Strikes Back” that had a significant impression on me,
especially the "battle of Hoth". I'll never forget the first time I saw
those towering AT-AT walkers appear on the horizon, and the chill of fear.
(Now THOSE were some FX, before the age of CGI ...)

I devoted many a moment recreating that scene as a kid -- it's been a few decades,
but thought I'd try it again. Of course, I had to throw in the Imperial Droid as well.

"every walk with nature..."

“In every walk with Nature
one receives far more than he seeks.”

"I went out for a walk..."

“I only went out for a walk,
and finally concluded to stay out till sundown,
for going out, I found,
was really going in.”
— John Muir, 1938

the poetry of the sea

"But where, after all,
would be the poetry of the sea
were there no wild waves?”
— Joshua Slocum

bloodflowers

'bloodflowers' 8.5x11" pen and ink. “Bloodflowers” - loosely motivated by memories of a certain infamous conversation between a Ukrainian civilian and a Russian soldier during the early days of the 2022 invasion and a welcome gift of sunflower seeds…

fun fair

Doodle word-prompt: “funfair”,
(with a little dark twist of my own,
creatively speaking)

"content creator"

(a wry reflection on how participating in social media
can devolve into an  obsession/compulsion to produce “content”
in a perpetual, if fleeting, search for attention …
and not without some irony, sharing on social media. go figure!)

"Rest is not idleness..." -- John Lubbock

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” — John Lubbock
